Hi all! I've created 2 forms (main and sub). I've then added the sub form to the main form using the wizard - works fine. I've then created separate reports from the main and sub form, again using the wizard. However, when I add the sub report to the main report using all of the wizard combinations, the sub report is always blank. This has been doin my head in for the last week. Any suggestions. In anticipation - THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

Have you tried abandoning the wizards and using the subreport tool in the toolbox? Lots of properties to set, but you have more control that way...

Hi Genomon. When I placed the subform into the main form I used the sub form/report tool from the toolbox. I've used exactly the same routine to place the subreport into the main report - only this time the sub report is blank. I'll keep on trying. THANKS FOR ADVICE. In anticipation - THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

Guess I could have included a LITTLE more with that last - sorry! Make sure the "wizard" button on the toolbox is turned off first so you you don't get the annoying hoops MS wants you to jump through, then set the recordsouce manually. If you still get blanks, make sure that whatever you have for controls in the detail section are bound correctly and visible = true (yes), or even just add a label that says "TEST" to see if the subreport is even getting called. Lastly, make sure that whatever you are using for a datasource has something in it. Sounds stupid, but I have wanted to leap from tall buildings because queries that "worked fine" were returning null recordsets.
Anyway this all seems too basic to address your problem correctly. If you like (and are still hung) send stuff to me at gkent@crinet.com . I am leaving now until MOnday AM, but will respond in more detail if I get mail.
GO PACK! (It's a Wisconsin thing)

Hi Gen.
Success. Reports now work O.K. Admittidly I'm not sure why, I'll go back over the changes you suggested and make sure I understand. Thanks for all your help - GO PACK (I'm a brummi from Birmingham, England. I'm guessing GO PACK is a Football expression?).

Thanks again......

Grendel..... In anticipation - THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!
