Hi

A freind of mine has asked be to replace a hard drive in an Acer Aspire 1355LC laptop.

I can see where the drive lives and there is a plastic cover on the side, but I can't work out how to get the cover off, even after removing the two screws!
I don't want to force it.

Can anyone advise how to remove the drive please?
I've looked all over the web and cannot find an answer.

Many thanks, Craig.

It just pulls out, my IBM and Dell need a little help with a small screw drive to pry them as they are a tight fit.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I don't see a HD there, is it in the front?

If you can have a look here -

ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_1350/manual/1350-uk.pdf

page 18

It looks like the HD is on the right side front next to the CD/DVD, it sholde pull out to the right. My IBM looks the same as this oneand I need to pry a bit to get it to some out. just do it gently on each side back and forth.

Many thanks

Took a little wriggling with a screwdriver, but it came out.

Thanks again, it's always nice to have a little reassurance with these things!

Cheers, Craig.

Glad I could help.
