ACD security key 1

Hi all,
I received a used stand alone ACD NAM that is missing the security key on the parallel port.
I called Cintech and the reply I got from them (there is no way to replace the security key) this means that the ACD is useless! is this true? what kind of logic is this?!
Is there a way to get this key? any advise on what to do to be able to use this ACD.

yes the key is the license ...if lost you'll have to prove that you are the registered owner - or get the registered owner to get a replacement
if not it is useless
