We have a G3si v10 and have several hunt groups set for our cust. svc. dept as ACD groups. We do not have vectoring software. These groups cover to an auto attendant on audix. One of the options is to hold. If this option is selected the caller hear's the first announcement, but then they hear ringing instead of MOH. Is there any way to have them hear MOH? Thanks

I'm a little confused, when you say you don't have vectoring software, do you mean you don't have any version of ASA or DSA? The vectoring is donne with these.

I have not been able to find a way to have queued callers hear hold music without vectoring. Believe me, I have tried.

A couple of things you can try: 1) Delay the hold message for 5 or 10 seconds, this will work well if your queue times are fairly low or 2) Say something in the hold message that explains the line will ring until answered and to hang on until it is answered.

Hope that helps.

Im still confused that you say that you do not have vectoring software? If you have a G3si v10, then you have the software that you need to create these vectors.

Vectoring is a call center software option installed on the PBX. You do not just "get" vectoring with the PBX. It's usually about a $20K option on a new PBX. It has nothing to do with the ability to administer vectors via ASA, DSA, or the SAT. -CL

Back to the original question, I was unaware of a way to make a queued call (ACD but no vectoring) to not hear music. The only thing I can think of is the COR containing a "Hear System Music on Hold? n". Check the COR's of your hunt group, phone, and audix ports. -CL

ctr999,
that's what I was told before. If you don't have vectoring, you won't hear MOH in the queue. I was hoping they were wrong and I was just missing something. Thanks for the response.
