anyone know how the *#18 function for ACD DDI number actually works?

Little mention of it other than it's name in the EPs.

This feature can be used with IVR's, Procentre and as below a fax server.

This is an example of a site were the BRAIF extension is 5406 and the fax server is connected to the BRAIF S-Bus as EUROISDN, ( not UKISDN ).
The supplementary digits are going to be four digits long, SPNSD, and will use the I/C DDI digits 5201, 5202, 5203 and all numbers beginning 53.
The I/C DDI trunk main group uses digit translation table 04, LTMG. In table 04 the above digits are translated with a prefix of *#185406, this is the DDI digit ACD feature and the S-Bus extension number. This causes the I/C DDI digits to be sent to the fax server and thus routing to a particular fax machine.

Note CSTA must be turned on in the feature table.

System parameter SPNSD = Max number of supplementary digits allowed for ACD/CSTA DDI digit feature.

System parameter TMASD = Timeout period between receipt of supplementary digits for ACD/CSTA DDI digit feature.

LDTT 4 A

5201 *#1854065201
5202 *#1854065202
5203 *#1855065203
53 *#18540653

*#18 feature instructs the DX to direct calls to the identifiable number (5406)

When the call is presented to the fax server (5406), the additional digits i.e “5201” are passed to fax server to route to a particular fax machine.

Hope this helps.

Brilliant!

It's actually a BRAIF connected FAX server which this problam pertains to.

I couldn't find any mention of *#18 on either the EPs or on eTAC.

Where did you find this info?

I'll elaborate a little while I'm here!

Your post was very helpful to confirm what I thought (that the ACD DDI was used to change the B-part adress for recognition purposes), but I can't get it to work.

One of our customer's has the same setup, but it's a hunt group full of BRAIFs to the fax server.

The LTMG has something like:

5201 *#1854065201

where 5406 is the hunt group pilot number (members are 5407,5408, 5409 for example).

Now, the DX is passing over the hunt group member numbers to the FAX server, rather than the actual dialled number (5201).

I can't see a way round this, and can't see why it won't work.

Is patch 31810-01-2 installed.I beleive this is required for software 5.1.001 to 6.2. I beleive patch 29050 must be withdrawn from the system ?

Try translating the DDI digits straight to the S-BUS extension, bypass the Hunt group number.

5201 *#1854065201

5406 = s bus extn

DN5406 D TP01

Nah this does the same as expected, it sends the S-bus extension as the B-Party.

It seems to me that the *#18 is superfulous at the moment.

BTW it's 7.1 and neither of those patches are present.

With the help of the TAC I've found the answer.

Patch 31811 is required for 7.1. Whoever put the patch in had only put it in at trial status, the DX restarted on the 16th thus losing the patch.

Put patch back in at full status.

PS for 8.x it's 31812
