Hi guys

When you do an ACD Back up to another LIM, am i right to assume that the phones do not need to be set up (i.e have the same acd buttons ?) . How does the Backup affect the 2nd LIM I i.e capacity, licences etc
Many thanks

you don't need license for BACKUP ACD.
they are already taken.

typical setup (example for a 2lim system)

LIM1 & LIM2 are not on the same location, both have external lines who serve the total DID range. (PRA LIM1 has the same range as PRA LIM2)

LIM1

ACD A (BACKUP= ACD B)

LIM2

ACD B (BACKUP= ACD A)

when for example LIM2 goes down and a call enters for ACD B
the call will be served to ACD A.

clear enough?

from alex:

2.22 ACD back-up group
When a LIM is blocked, isolated or restarts and there is an ACD group in it that has a back-up group, the followings apply:

Delayed calls for the ACD group are deflected to the back-up group
New incoming calls are diverted to the back-up group

Thanks whosrdaddy ! I was just thinking that since you can have around 75 ACD positions on a LIM and around 250 acd memebers (not sure about the figures ..) then by making a LIM which is almost full a back up , then the system would somehow not allow this ? Just a thought...

no, you don't want to create EXTRA acd groups, you take EXISTING acd groups as backup.

offcourse if you don't have additional acd groups located in a different LIM THEN you must create one (with different extensions)
