ACCPAC Proseries 6.5 - SYSDATA lock problem

hi everyone,
we are having trouble with the new proseries 6.5. we have several companies on the system and lately, all of them seemed to have been halted in the system due to sysdata being locked. the system tells them waiting to lock and then eventually times out of the process they are trying to perform. we have noticed that these errors occur when trying to release to something. that is release to gl from ar or release payroll to printing checks. are there any ideas why we may be having these problems? thanks
