hi all, i'm in the process of yet another novell (3.12 this time) to windows 2003 cutover.

Currently, accpac plus is running on the novell server and is running fine. Due to future upgrades, the novell server isn't going to cut it anymore.

I tried last year to cut it over to linux samba but it turned out to be a real fiasco. 1 or 2 users at a time, no problems. 3 or more users caused total havok while running on samba.

I need to make sure the cutover isn't going to be an issue. Ive transferred accpac from server to server in a windows environment with no problem. BUT i'm skittish on the novell cutover.

i know it's just a matter of reinstalling to windows but is there anything else I should be aware of???

Thanks in advance.

Remove Netware clients from the workstations ASAP.

Actually, the workstations don't have the full novell client installed. Just the netware client from microsoft.

That all I need to know?

OK, that client plays a little better with Windows, but you should remove it ASAP, too.

What version of Accpac is this?

The manager is V7, the rest of accpac is in the V6 area.

The main reason i'm asking this is that the client is very skittish over the linux thing. Just wanting to cross my t's and what not.

I'm assuming just take ownership of the accpac directories and reinstall to the same drive letter into a windows based environment.

Ahh, Accpac Plus, not Windows. I hope you have your System Manager diskettes and activation codes. You need to change the LanPak type from Netware to NT.

And turn off Opportunistic File Locking on the server.
