Accpac Plus for DOS Error

Running Accpac Plus for DOS on Windows Server 2003. Had to restore files. When restore was completed and I went to run Accpac I received the following error:

When I go to run PLUS it freezes and when I close I get error message "Windows cannot end this program it may need more time to complete an operation".

You're probably SOL.

What are the contents of CONFIG.NT and AUTOEXEC.NT?
Why did you have to restore?
Are you sure it was a good backup?

Good question. I don't know. HOw's that for an answer.

This issue was sent earlier to me today without talking to the acutal end user. So I was just doing a bit of homework before hand before I called end user to see if anyone has run across this with this software.

As for the config.nt I assume the standard line of files=250 needs to be there. As for autoexec.nt what is supposed to be in there? Been so long. Is it supposed to be something in the path= line?

Nothing is required in autoexec.nt, only files=250 in config.nt
You don't say what the error was.

Thanks ettienne...the error is posted in the first post. Again I have not contacted end user. Was given to me earlier so doing a little back ground checking before user is acutally called.

They restored Accpac to the partition on the server it ran on before. Now when they go to run Accpac Dos they get the error:

"Windows cannot end this program it may need more time to complete an operation".

The acutal program does not even get to the start list. Just this error. Not sure if it has been tried at the DOS prompt to run plus.exe. Not sure if it is something in the icon. Don't know and won't know until the morning.

Just wanted to see if anyone has come across this.

That's like saying "my car is making a funny noise, what's wrong with it?"
Yeah something's wrong, but that's too general of a description to identify the problem.
Did the server or drive crash and they're trying to restore the program and data files? If so I think they are missing some program files, there are some hidden files that might not have been included in the backup.

Thanks ettienne...you may be right on the hidden files. To my knowledge both the programs and data were both restored to the the part of the hard drive it was running on before it went down.

Will know more tomorrow.

In that case reinstall the program files.
