I have upgraded to a WinXP workstation and have hit a problem.
(We are running on a NetWare network) On Win98 when you installed a printer there was an option to say one needed the printer for DOS and you could allocate a port – eg I allocated LPT4.
Now on Win XP, I cannot find where to do that.
I have tried starting Accpac as follows but still no joy:
net use lpt4: \\PS521775\P1 /persistent:yes
G:\PLUS.EXE /WC:\Temp
When in Accpac I cannot print to LPT4, but if I Ctrl-D and go to DOS, I can issue the DOS command “dir>LPT4” and it works!
Any ideas? Really stumped….
Thanks
John
