Accpac and windows 8

Hi All,

I am running accpac version 5.5 from the server and its working well,but when i run it from a workstation that is using windows 8 it gives the error 'unable to connect to the database' but on other workstation using windows 8 or xp it connects.

What could be the issue with windows 8?

It's probably not compatible. But your statement above doesn't make sense. You said "windows 8 it gives an error", but then you say "other workstation using windows 8" connects? So, does it ever connect or not?

Oh sorry other workstations with windows 7 or xp its fine.

Then don't use Windows 8 with 5.5.

Right-click the Accpac icon and select Run As Administrator - see if that works.
