Hi,
my first time posting in a forum.
I'm currently having a problem with accpac 5.1a. When I tried to log onto the workstation, I got error 113. (Cannot access database).

This is an ongoing issue with our workstations. Two of the three that need access to accpac return this message. The third one is fine for now, but for how long?

We are running pervasive SQL 2000.

Server is Windows 2003

Any help to get up and running would be appreciated. W're about a month away from upgrading and are switching vendors, so I'm really stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Thanks

Error 113 is usually a permissions problem. Make sure all users have _full_ rights to the data folder.

Hi Tuba2007,
Thank you for the help. Heres the odd bit. We have only one login between the three of us. I.E., we all login as the admin user, no password. I know, not a great setup. Admin works off one machine, but not all three. Up untill a few days ago, Admin could be logged onto two machines simultaneously. Then suddenly, only one. I haven't seen anything that could possibly have hyappend friday that would have done that.

Not the Accpac login, the Domain login. You may have to reset the permissions, AD goes wacko sometimes.

If you are referring to the Accpac ADMIN user then that is not relevant, you need to set the network permissions for the network user - the one you use to login after you turn on the computer. You should setup and use different Accpac users for each user, this solves printing problems and other issues.
Check the permissions on the Accpac share on the server, your network users should have full permissions and add SYSTEM with full permissions as well.

Tuba2007 & Etienne,
thank you guys. Hadn't thought of that.
I'll give those a try when (if ) my boss returns sometime today with the key to the server closet. It's one of the most bizarre setups i've ever encountered and i'm not familiar with AccPac from the support end. Learning by the seat of my pants, and with limited access, really frustrating.

Key to the closet? You can use remote desktop to gain access to the server, no key required - and you do not need to move from your desk.

Hi Etienne,

Under a normal install, yeah. That is what I would do. However, I only have limited rights to the server from a remote desktop. After two weeks here, I feel totally powerless to fix things. My boss likes to keep tight control over everything. I do have more rights when i'm right at the server, but that users remote login has been disabled.

Next time you are at the server enable remote login, it's ridiculous to have to wait for a key.
