ACCPAC 5.3 > 5.4 Upgrade, datapipe reports

Hi all,

We are testing an upgrade of ACCPAC from 5.3 to 5.4. We have customized forms that were created in Crystal 8.5 for most transactions that are driven by dll datapipes (modified from the default 5.3 datapiped forms).

Trying to run these in 5.4 yields numerous different errors. I believe it is because the forms are still trying to use the 5.3 dll's and ACCPAC is providing the data through the 5.4 dll's.

I have not been able to find a way to update these forms to try to obtain the data from the 5.4 dll's. I have tried "Set Location" directly to the new dll (in this case OEINPR3.dll) and run "Verify Database" with only more errors.

Has anyone encountered this before or have any advice? We would strongly prefer to not recreate all these forms from scratch.

Classic problem. Your mistake, since this is an OE invoice, was using the datapipe version in the first place. You should _always_ use the non-datapipe version when available.

My advice is to bite the bullet and recreate it using OEINV04.

Ya, I kinda figured that. I inherited this problem of datapiped custom forms, I never liked em' myself.

If anyone knows any other solution I'm all ears, though looks like we need to get started recreating these forms.

It is easier to use the 5.4 standard reports and make your changes to them than trying to get pre-5.4 reports to work.
The bottom line is do not make a million changes to the standard reports, else you will be redoing all the work with each upgrade, one way or the other.
