After trying to build a new server (it needs more work) we have gone back to our old server and copied the current Data files to an external HD then copied back to the original server.
Accpac 4.2A / Pervasive

We copied files back to ..Accpac\Data\BALDAT That is up to date data files only.

We are getting errors when processing transactions.

Example: Running a day end.
1. Generic Line Data Database error (operation=GET, error=2)
2. LINEZ failed
3. Internal error reading line laydown(1184 PORCPZ1.C)
4. Dayend processing could not process all transactions.

I'm all at sea with Pervasive and I suspect there is some tool that will analyse and repair the database.

Did you also copy the system database?

You might try performing a dbDump/dbLoad to have Pervasive re-build the tables.

Are your folder sizes the same - IOW - did all of the data copy correctly?

Its seems that you are missing some data files, or there are data files that are damaged.
1. Run database verify and tell us what errors are reported.
2. DBdump/DBload as suggested, or run the Pervasive rebuild utility.

Thanks guys.

We ran Pervasive rebuild utility on the data files and that seems to clear up all errors (so far)

Is it sufficient to backup \accpac\data directory or should we be backing up other critical directories for good backups.

The SITE folder is a good choice as well. Don't worry about SEMAPHOR.BIN or LANPAK.BIN, though.
