We're looking to format our accounting measures similar to the Excel Accounting format. In Excel, this format is
_($* #,##0.00_);_($* (#,##0.00);_($* ""-""??_);_(@_)

This doesn't work in SSAS 2008. Has anyone implemented an accounting type format? The key to it is that the currency symbol is left-aligned and the number is right-aligned. I realize that the OLAP tool being used would probably need to support this in the grid, but Excel 2007 does not even render the format properly.

I haven't seen this type of formatting in SSAS before. The query returned to excel may contain the cell properties which override any formatting you place in excel.
