Hi:
What are some ideas/direction to add accounting to my project whereby I can take data from myproject to accounting, use it in accounting, and bring back into myproject. There seems to be a ton of acctg packages available, but I am looking for small business package, either SDK or code for purchase. It's the availability of the raw acctg data that I can bring back into myproject for different use. . .
Any suggestions or your thoughts would be deeply appreciated.

We faced a similar issue with an application that we wrote and felt that we'd get better results by writing our own accounting module as opposed to purchasing the source code for one or linking into a commercial package such as Quick Books. The development time was a little longer going this way, but we were able to build a lot of features into the system that weren't available in most of the other packages. Of course it helps that I was a CPA prior to going thru a mid-life career change to become a VFP Programmer.

Thanks Steve & Slighthaze,
In response to Steve's comment, having an accounting minor myself, its the use by other people in my office that I am trying to get around. . .most acctg packs, you need a acctg degree and a 4 inch manual. . .they are not very intuitive.

Question: How tough would it be to learn API/SDK say for quickbookspro per Slighthaze's comment intergrating in myproject or would it be easier just to write my own?

Thanks for any feedback.
