There is a comman in SCO Unix called "ap".
ap -- generate account profile for propagation to other machines
ap provides a simple method of propagating user account profiles between
machines. An account profile entry consists of the user's line from the password file
followed by all relevant parts of their Protected Password database entry.
My question -- Is there a similiar command in Red Hat Linux

I have copied the /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow file from one machine to the next without any trouble. Just make sure the home directory, and shell are correct for the machine you are copying to.
