Hello everyone,

I've built a report picklst prompt. First issue, when my report opens, the prompt appears (as it should), but it only shows approximately 75 to 100 Account Names. I need the prompt to show all the Account Names.

Secondly, once the Account Name is selected from the prompt, I need the report to "fill" in the address for that Account Name.

Any suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

See the FAQ on Impromptu Prompts regarding Picklist limits. You can change this easily, but it needs to be done in the Impromptu.ini.

Thanks, I just found the FAQ about changing the limits. Since the report picklist has 6,500 Account Names, I might have to go with a Type-In.

Any idea how I can have the report automatically fill in the address information for the Account Name?
~Thanks again,
Becky

Not sure of how you are using the prompt. Is it part of a filter or is it used in another way? What is the usage relationship between the Account Name and the Account Address? Why would a normal table join to return the address from a lookup table not work?

Puzzled,

Hi,

Yes increasing picklist limits is a solution but this shouldn't be done as it could hamper performance. Also if the application is to used by many users the picklist limits needs to be changed at each and every workstation.

Thanks

Sorry Dave; today is absolute a brain-dead day for me! The join is working correctly - it would help if I looked a little closer to the results!

My prompt is part of the filter, and now it is also working correctly since I changed it to a Type-In. Thanks for your help!
