Account lock outs

Dear all,

Need your help with have one user account that keeps locking out whilst the user is logged on!!!!!

Any ideas

I had a similar problem.
It would only happen on some Win95/98 PC's.
If the user wasn't using his PC for half an hour the network connection would drop and lock out the user account.

There is a registry setting that can be changed to hold open the network connection, unfortunately I'm still looking.

As an stopgap measure I have put a .bat file in the startup menu (of the PC that was locking out the account)containing the following line

ping [servername] -t

Replace [servername] with your Wins/DNS server.
It will continuously ping the server so that the network connection will not drop.
Just minimise it when it starts.

Or...if you're using windows 2000 you could take advantage of the Scheduled Tasks and schedule (say every 25minutes) a ping to run in the backgroud.
