I am trying to use an asterisk for a pause in my speed dial lists between the number being dialed and the long distance trunk access code. There needs to be a 3 to 5 second pause before the switch out pulses the 3 digit access code in order for the LD carrier to accept the code. When the line is monitored the digits are all out pulsed with no pause and then the user is asked for their access code. Does anyone have an answer as to why the pause does not work? My system is a Nortel Meridian Option 61c. Software version 1811, release 21, issue 54.
