I have been instructed to get some data out of some old files from 1996. I finally was able to get them exported.
(they were in some kind of zip format) does any know what I need to view
RPTZ5136.ACD
RPTZ5136.ACX
RPTZ5136.MGD
RPTZ5136.MGX
RPTZ5136.TRD
RPTZ5136.TRX Files?
I can open them in notepad but they are not really useable this way. There was a file TV-PRGM.EXE included but I was not able to open them with that either. There was a file called movefile.bat which just created a zzz.exe (zip file) which then exported these files. I did need to create a teleview folder if that is any help.
Thank You,
Terry

you can't open those with wordpad?

Yes and with notepad but there is weird char in there to. The formationg is so whacked I can't even write something to parse it out nice.

You could use a basic text editor that is neutral to file types to open them. Then you could see everything in the file, although it might not be in the format you want.

In the MAC world editors like BBEdit and Tex-Edit are examples. I'm not familiar with the Windoz editors.

Hope this helps!

The king in Windoze is often said to be "Ultra-Rdit" I use version 8 and it can open a 30 meg text file in fairly short order
But for the zero cost editors - just as good in many ways - you can try here for example (nonags.com mirroe)

All of them put wordpap to shame because they do not try to display anything other than the actual file contents.
