accidently hit save instead of save as in Word 97

Hi,

Many changes were made to a Word 97 document, and the user intended to hit "save as", having the new version and the original document, but accidently hit "save". Is there any way to recover the original document?

When you select save it automatically overwrites the previously saved version. So the answer to your question is no. However, if the document is on a network server and the server is backed up nightly you may be able to recover the original document from a backup.
