Hello all at tek-tips,

This may be a basic question but please bare with me. Can a user access a VBA application straight from the desktop without first opening the workbook? I have created an application in VBA using excel data and wondered if the worksheet in the background was really required?

Any feedback would be very much appreciated,
Thank you,

I am afraid that is a little too vague for me. There are a number of things you can do without the user seeing an open workbook.

Hi Remou,

Sorry, um basically I've created an application and would like to get it running without the workbook/ sheet being in the background. The ideal would be to go from a desktop shortcut which opens the application straight to one of the forms. More stand-alone really as a seperate app.

Or any idea how to turn it into an installable application? I know that .net has a wizard feature or something of the sort but am unaware of how to go about that sort of thing in VBA.

You can set the visibility as far as I know:
Application.Visible=False

This is an Access forum, you will get better answers in forum707.

Thank you,

Will give it go and take post suggestion for future reference. Wow, so many forums, so little time.

PATRON58,

FYI, this is an MS Access forum.

You ought to post Excel VBA questions in Forum707.

BTW, I have loads of functions I store in my PERSONAL.xls, which is ALWAYS hidden.
