I set up my system at work that has a single hard drive with two partitions. One holds Windows NT and the other holds Solaris 8.

When I boot into Solaris, is there any way I can access my files on the Windows NT partition? What are the commands necessary to mount the NT partition and get to the files?

Also, how do I mount a CDROM drive and a DOS floppy? I tried using the mount command for a floppy but I kept getting an error message saying /dev/diskette is already mounted when I use the command line. Yet I can't access the files. I have no trouble accessing it however with the Admintool, but I want to do things the hard way via the command line :)

Thanks!

If your Windows NT partition is FAT32, you can mount NT partition as pcfs, i.e if you NT drive C is on c0d0p3:

# mount -F pcfs /dev/dsk/c0d0p3 /mnt

change c0d0p3 to match your NT partition.

CD-Rom and diskette should be automaticly mounted by volume manger if vold is running if you aren't using vold
run "volcheck" and them df -k to check ...

Hope it helps.

Carlos Almeida
