I have an SCSI RAID adapter and 4MM tape drive that need microcode updates. I have attached the machine to my router that I am using for my LAN at home. Can anyone point me in the right direction to where I can set this up to work correctly so I can download the microcode updates directly to the RS/6000. Thank You.

I am doing a microcode upgrade to a SCSI RAID adapter. I downloaded the files to a floppy on my PC, moved them over to my 7044 170 and installed bos.dosutil so the format would work on the 44P. I know the file is there as it shows up when I do a dosdir. The file name is TR45001.BIN. The problem I am having is trying to create a temp file. According to IBM's microcode downlaod website they tell you to:

A) Make a directory on an AIX system to receive the AIX format file. Enter:

mkdir /tmp/raidtemp

When I enter this command I get the message "cannot create a /tmp/raidtemp. /tmp/raidtemp: Do not sprcify an existing file

I'm stuck at this point. Please let me know what I am doing worng. Thanks for your help.

looke like it you have a file in /tmp named raidtemp, if you do you can make a dir called the same.
