Hi!
I have set up MOSS 2007 on a standalone server with advanced installation for further development.(adding to farm and so on) the server is set up as an application and web server(NO DNS or DC roles).
Installation of MOSS and SQL 2008 seems fine. I have made several local accounts like IntranetSSP and so on.

In central admin I start all the services needed, made the web applications, and a new ssp (everything seems to work well) all web applications are set to use the same port, and I have added them in the local host file. Example:
192.168.1.1 SSPAdmin
However if I try to access the ssp admin site, I just keep getting asked for credentials, after 3 tries i get a blank site.I have tried both service accounts and the administrator account, but with the same result.
I tried making a new site collection under the web application intranet, which was successfull, but I get the same result here. The only place I seem to be able to access on the server is Central Administration. What am I doing wrong?? Please can anybody help me?

>>However if I try to access the ssp admin site

are you accessing this site from your local system or from the server???

Hi and thank you for your fast reply.
I am only accessing the site from the server. It is not connected to the network at all for the time being.

hmmm,

this is strange. are the users local server users? if yes then did you try to give the servername as the domain name while giving the credentials. something like SERVERNAME\username

if the users are domain users try appending the domain name...
