Accessing share makes screen go blank and return

I'm not a mac boy myself, have set up share's on a windows NT server, which worked absolutley fine with OSX but recently one machine when accessing the share via an icon on the desktop opens up then when you scroll down or select a file it flips out and makes the screen go blank and then returns with the share closed. I removed the share and connected to it again and the same thing, not sure what to try any ideas?
