I've got a Database that resides in server X and can't be moved. There are two tables in this database that need to be accessed by people that don't have access to server X. I have tried creating a seperate db that links to those two tables, then making a Data access page and posting it on the local intranet, however, every time I try to pull up the DAP from a workstation that cannot access the "X" server I get an error

"X:db2.mdb" is not a valid path. make sure the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides

I'm open to other suggestions of how to get this information to those people quickly.

Can you access the tables from your second database? If so, why don't you just have your users access that database directly using the share drive on the INTRAnet?
Also, you might want to look at:
How to deploy data access pages over the Internet
Or, depending on how often your table data changes, create replicas?
