Accessing printers

I have a laptop running W2000 which I connect to a number of networks

I can then browse the network and see the various servers

When I want access to a shared resource all I do is click on the server, it then asks for a user name and password, hey presto it all works

At one prticular site this does not work, instead I must logon to the NT domain to get access, I don't particularly want to do this

Can anyone explain whats happening, or suggest a reference I can go to to sort this out

Could it be, that none of the servers but on one site are confogured as a domain?

How many domains do you guys have? do all your sites belong to the same network? How many do you logging with the same user name and password or are all you'r passwords synced?
