accessing peripherals on drive1 from drive2

Just installed second HD and installed winxp but xp hasnt picked up the printer, scanner or adsl modem nor are they showing in device manager. I would like to connect to web from either drive plus scan and print. Any idea's?

1. Was the printer turned on when you installed XP?
2. Perhaps scanner has to be installed separately.
Have you run new hardware detect wizard for 1 and 2?
3. Is the ADSL modem connected via a NIC or USB port? Did you have to go through an install procedure when you first got it (with your ISP)? You may need to repeat this for new installation.

printer and scanner where turned on printer has been found but not scanner yet printer connects through weird. Modem is internal.
