Could someone explain why whenever I try to access my mail in Outlook I have to shut down Zone Alarm? I cannot find any other way of receiving my mail other than shutting down. I 'told' Zone Alarm (quite sternly actually!!!) to allow access to Outlook (by ticking the box), but it's still no use. Any other suggestions as to getting it to work properly gratefully received (hitting with a big stick has not proved to be the solution!).

Try turning off the email checker of ZoneAlarm ... it doesn't check for viruses anyway ... use an anti-virus for that

I had this problem a couple of times before. It seems to be related to MSN Messenger. Basically, you need to allow access to everything that ZoneAlarm asks for, when you bring Outlook up.

Remove outlook from the access list, and after that re-install it. I had some similar problems with some applications and resolved it this way. Steven van Els

once you've removed it you shouldn't need to reinstall, but use it.
