Hello
I am preparing my migration from Apache, PHP and MySQL runing on Windows on my local development machine
to a new setup:
I have installed on that same local machine REdHat 7.2
and all my tools PHP etc...
my question is:
when I start a PHPmyAdmin session it tells me that since I operate MySQl from MySQL root access (it means MySQl root and not RH root) I create a big security problem
since it's only local I don't mind too much however I would like setting correctly MYSQl to avoid the message
how will I do it?
Please be advised that presently I am quite still new to RedHat and Linux syntax as well as their file management system!
thank you

I have created that user
however by default MySQl is turned on and seems to consider me only as root user
so how can I open a MySQl session by using the other user name

thank you

I'm not that familiar with PHPmyadmin, but at some point it should have asked you for credentials.

If your browser has remembered those credentials, then you will be logging in using them every time. Try restarting your browser to get the site to ask for new credentials. Want the best answers? Ask the best questions: TANSTAAFL!
