We have our Windows 2000 Server working great with 35 in-house workstations. Now we need to allow one of our managers to access the Server from a remote office PC (Windows XP Pro). I know we can use Remote Desktop Connection on the remote XP, but do I need to activate Terminal Services on my Windows 2000 Server. I see it under Services but it is DISABLED and I don't have the option to START it.
Please advise if I just change from DISABLED to AUTOMATIC.

Take a look at:
faq96-3795

There are a few other FAQ's regarding Terminal Services as well.

TS can be a funny thing.

First thing to check is that it's actually installed - by default on a Win2k server it isn't.

Go to control panel / add remove software, check in the Windows installation section.

Thank you for valuable assistance. I now have Terminal Services - Remote Administration Mode installed & working great. Now, my next 2 questions are:

1. Can I also install Application Server Mode & have both running on my Windows 2000 Server?

2. Do I need to create Client Disks to install on my Remote Windows XP Workstations, or can I use Remote Desktop Connection?
