Accessing MIRAN

There two primary administrative ways to access your MIRAN card:

1. By web page.. (typically 192.168.1.X)
2. By dialing the voice admin port. (assuming one of your ports was setup as an admin port/route)

I usually do a combination of both...I record my announcements by dialing the admin number. Then I assign the announcements/ports using the web page.

To find your voice admin number (in a typical setup) print your RDBs/LTMs and look for the TN and associated route. The number to call is the ACOD for that route.

Hope this helps!

WHAT TYPE OF MIRAN I II OR III

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

On the front plate of the card connect the cable that came with it. Using hyper terminal connect with PC. logins are user password user0000 or admin with password admin000. If starting from scratch refer to the manual for VXworks .

MIRAN CARD SET UP.

ON THE OPTION 11C USE PORT 2 OF THE SDI CABLE ON THE MAIN CABINET AND CHANGE TTY PORT TO 1200 BAUD AND FM SDI TO LSL. USE CONNECTION FM THE FRONT OF THE MIRAN CARD WITH APPROPRIATE ADAPTERS TO TTY 2. TO ACCESS CARD THIS WAY LOG IN TO THE SWITCH, THEN TYPE: AX 2
AX JUST LIKE FOR VOICE MAIL ON THE OPTION 11C THE 2 IS FOR THE LSL TTY PORT. ENTER THE KEY CODES. YOU MAY HAVE TO REFRESH THE SCREEN SEVERAL TIMES. CONTROL RIGHT BRACKET TO GET OUT.
BUILD A DID TRUNK ROUTE, THEN A DID TRUNK TO WHATEVER CARD SLOT THEN 7. THIS SETS UP YOU PHONE ACCESS TO THE CARD.
BUILD A MUSIC ROUTE AND A TRUNK. MUSIC ON HOLD IS ALREADY ON THE CARD . BUILD YOUR RAN ROUTES AND TRUNKS. YOU DO NOT NEED A UNIVERSAL TRUNK CARD, THE MIRAN ACTS AS ONE. THIS GIVES THE CAPABILITY OF 8 CAHNNELS INTERNAL TO THE CARD AND 2 MORE EXTERNAL OF THE CARD.

START AT PAGE 55 IN MIRAN BOOK FOR FAST SET UP. PAGE 199 STARTS THE TELEPHONE USER INTERFACE INFORMATION THAT YOU NEED. BEST BET IS TO KEEP YOUR SET UP SIMPLE. UNTIL YOU GET USE TO IT TRYING TO ASSIGN YOUR CHANNELS FOR USE CAN PISS YOU OFF.

Or easier way is to direct connect with the MIRAN card cable to PC COM port 1 9600 baud, 8 none and 1. If the MIRAN card is ok the face plate LEDs will say MRN3 is not will have some code with 14 or 20. If this is the case the MIRAN card itself may have to be reloaded from scratch. Port 7 is for the TUI (telephone unit interface).
