Using CR 9.0

I am trying to connect CR to a MS Access database that is in a directory on a website... I have the username and logon file to the site.

I am trying to find the correct connection to use from the Database Expert. For example, I tried Access, but it won't accept a URL for the file location.

Not sure if this is even possible or if I have to somehow make this Access DB a local file first. If I can tap into it on the web then all the info is current.

A URL isn't a file location, it's a link to a page, so it's doubtful it will work.

If you have a connection to the server, you might be able to use:

\\server\path\file.mdb

Otherwise you might set up an automated FTP schedule to move the Access file over to a machine you have access to, such as your own or a server within your domain.

Access also has distributed applications that allow remote users access to data, but the app has to be designed that way.
