Hi,

what I did until now was a cross-tab. the data for this tab are coming from a BAAN database.
My Problem now is that I shall include another data. This single data is only available in an excel sheet.

Now, I don't have a clue how to manage the import of this data. I hope you can give me a hint so I know at least in which direction I have to look.

I'm using Crystal Reports 8.5

thank you in advance
Martin

Dear Kretzer,

Is their linkability between these two sources? If not, you could show them on the same report by using one as a main report and one as an unlinked subreport.

Well, I'm not sure what you mean with 'linkability' but i think these two sources are not linkable.
The thing is that all my data (until now) are coming from a Database view. So there is no problem. I generate a report with the data from the view.
All I want now is to get this new, singel piece of data as a variable or so into this report. Once I can address it with a name I can do formulars with it and then I can work with it so that my cross table will not have to be destroyed.

So how do I get this one data (for exmaple out of Excel) into the report? Only via a subreport?

The second question is does it work automatically? I mean - If someone does the report every month - id Crystal able to extract the data from an excel file automatically when the report runs?

Thank you
Martin
