I have a bunch of old email archived to a DVD in several .pst files. But I can't access them from the DVD because they are read-only and that property cannot be unchecked.

Is there anyway to circumvent the read-only problem and access the emails from the DVD without having to first copy the files to the harddrive and uncheck the read-only property?

No, Outlook needs write access even if nothing is going to be written.

That's not the answer I was looking for :-(, but thanks for the response. [peace]

You could do it from a cdrw...
but I wouldnt try it myself ;]

I have a machine I can use to create the archive disks, but the computer I would actually be using to access them doesn't have a burner.

Thanks for the thought, though.

copy the pst files to your hard drive, remove the archive attribute and that should give you what you want.
