Accessing an Excel spreadsheet within database

Hi,
I have an Excel worksheet that has a table that allows me to input a number in a specific cell and it performs operations on it (such as interpolation) and outputs the answer to another specific cell. Instead of figuring out how to get this into Access 97 and perform the operations needed, I would like to put this worksheet itself into Access and be able to plug in a number to that specific cell and copy out the returned value cell and put them in my database. Is this possible and if so, how?
