Ok I have a database on a server, and the system I am updating requires the connection to be client side, so that the client can move on the recordset, update, delete, etc with out having to refresh the page.

Any ideas how I archieve this?

Why would you want the connection on the client side, if you did then anyone could access the details / name / location / table names / fields names of your database.

Do you really want to give away that information?

The only way that I could see around this would be to use webservices to access the database securely, but you will need to consider, very seriously, what functionality your client wants, if he doesn't want a page refresh then are you going to download your entire site at once? I can see you going blind sorting out the mess that will ensue.
