Hi All,

I have a Deskjet670c configured on an NT machine and is shared. I am unable to access this printer from a Win2K machine due to the un-availability of drivers on the NT-machine where the printer is shared.

I tried to install a dummy printer on the Win2K machine thinking that it might load all the necessary drivers needed, and then the shared printer could be accessed..but to no luck:(

Please let me know if there's anything that can be done.
Thanks. Ash

There are no drivers avialable for your printer in W2K according to the HP website.
Irrespective of what you do it will not work properly. Hope this Helps

Ash-

You might try the NT 4.0 drivers and see if it's compatible on the Win2K machine. Occasionally, Win2K is backwards compatible with NT drivers and that might help you along the process.

Another thing to check, past drivers, is the security. Do the users have access to that printer?

Just a thought, I'm not sure if this is a helpful suggestion or just spitting in the wind, but I'd also try downloading and trying the drivers for Win XP. That uses the NT Kernel, which Win 2k uses also.
Good Luck, hg
