Hi, I have a need to connect one of my server (Application)to a customer site via the Internet. This connection must be secure and automatic since the remote site will be providing hourly data to the server.

The connection must be simple and not costly since we will have multiple connections.

Any suggestions or ideas on how to acheive this?

Thanks

Depending on your application, one of the following will be your best alternative:

SSL (with X.509 Certs), TLS (with X.509 Certs), SSH or VPN.

Since we have no idea what protocol(s) you will be using, it is hard to say that one will be better than the other. If the application is web-based, then SSL is the obvious choice.
