I have a Cisco 2811 which a vendor uploaded a config to it. It will not take the enable password provided and I have tried all of the variations I can think of...CAPS lock on, all CAPS etc.

I know with a 1700 series you can break the boot process to get into ROMMON mode, change the confreg register, reset the password and access the box with the new password. When I try to use Ctrl-Break on the 2811 the box keeps on with the boot process and ends at the normal login prompt. Does anyone have the procedure for busting into a Cisco 2811 w/o a password.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Cliff

I have used the same CTRL+Break technique myself on the 2811, worked fine. Only thing I can recommend is start doing the sequence ASAP when you boot up the device.

The break sequence depends on the terminal software you're using. Are you using something different for terminal software? If so, the break keys are probably different.
