Access97 with SQL, IPF with MSJET35.dll error

Is there a way that anyone knows of other than the MSKB articleQ163943 to work around this?
When querying table from Access to SQL Server, this IPF appears and Access shuts down.
Could this be remedied by simply copying,renaming the table, or is the issue deeper than that? Thanks. JM
