I have a list box in an Access97 database. When I place this field in a form, it gives the correct data, but places a black box around the field. I can't find a place in properties to turn this off.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

If I understand you correctly, right click on the form field, choose properties and click on the format field. The property is named something like BorderStyle. Change it to transparent. [sig]
Kathryn

[/sig]

Thanks,
I had actually tried that but it still displayed a black box on the report.

I downloaded a sample database from Microsoft's website and followed an example there. I changed the List box to a Combo Box and that solved the problem.

I'm too new at this to know why that worked, but it did.

If it appeared on the report as well, then you need to go into the report design and change it there to (the same way you did on the form).

Thanks,
I had only changed the border to transparent on the report. It didn't matter to me really how it looked on the form.

I've already changed it to a ComboBox in this project, so I'll try that on the next one.

Any idea why changing it to a combobox made the black box go away? Just curious.
