I have an OLE object field in a table. When I try to insert a *.bmp file into the field in Datasheet view, I get the message that "OLE server may not be registered". Until this week I was able to perform the operation. All references to a analogous problem that I have found refer to older versions of Access. I have tried the prescribed solutions to no avail.

Sounds like possibly a registry key got deleted or corrupted is my initial guess. At worse, it could point to RAM or Hard drive issues... hopefully not.
Look here for a way to fix it if it's just a registry issue:
