We have a Access XP.mde that is loaded on different pcs, different locations. Every once in a while the pc will get this message: "The expression you entered refers to an object that is closed or doesn't exist."
Our solutions is to open the XP.mdb (which is on a server), go to modules, references, recheck the Microsoft DAO 3.6, close out and then make the XP.mde again.
We then replace the XP.mde onto the local pc again and it works.
We can not figure out why that reference is getting lost.
Ideas?

Sounds more like buggy code than corrupt reference. Usually bad refs throw the "type not defined" errors.
Could be a RS that is set to nothing/closed, and then referenced somewhere else?
