Hello.

We have a workstation that is dying here in the company, so i replaced it with Windows XP Pro SP2. The version of Access were running is from office 2000. Internet explorer 6 sp2.

The problem is that i copied over some MS Access Databases that one of our employees needs, but they wont open. I get this message:

"Microsoft access was unable to create the database window. Please upgrade to a newer version of internet explorer"

I dont get it though. The OLD PC is windows 98 *gag*, but it has internet explorer 6 and Access 2000, but it can open the *.mdb files without a problem. What am i missing here, is there a work around?

When you installed Office 2000 did you install IE5 (over the XP IE6)?

John

no i did not. IE6 came loaded with th OS.

I am reinstalling everything right now. it was a new system. And i dont have time to figure it out. I hope this takes care of it!

Figured it out, i used a different copy of Office 2000 and everything works. The first version i worked, must have been corrupt somehow as i got the same symptoms on another machine with a clean XP install.

thanks guys.
