I created a database to track medical records for particular patients in our practice. A few of the fields involve phone numbers. The database was designed in Access 2000. I had to switch to Access 97 because most of our office uses 97. I went through the converting process and compiled / debugged as the directions recommend and fixed the apparent errors. The way things used to work was that as you tabbed through a form and encountered a phone number field, the area-code default would be in and the cursor would be inserted just after the last digit of the areacode. This was accomplished by an event procedure in the "got focus" property. Now when I tab into that field my num-lock on the keyboard is de-activated and I can't figure out why. I either have to turn on the num-lock each time I enter a new phone number field with the number key-pad or use the number keys along the top of the keyboard. Can anyone tell me why this might be happening and how to fix it?
Thanks,
Andrea

Hi.

Since I don't know what's causing your NumLock key to be turned off all I can do is suggest:

Use the "SendKeys" action to turn the NumLock key back on. It looks like it's fully explained in help. (Whoops, that's help 2000).

SendKeys would be work-around fix, without ever knowing what's causing the problem in the first place.

My fix would be to spend the bucks for Access2000 licenses, but they're not my bucks. Gus Brunston  An old PICKer, using Access2000. Celebrating this year my 72nd birthday and my 50th wedding anniversary.

Thanks Gus, I'll try your advise with the Send Keys. Unfortunately, I don't have much pull as far as getting everyone on the network to have Access2000!

Just a hint...
With XP out, there are several places selling their Office 2000 software (in Denver) for a $100 a copy. It's registerable, they say. Gus Brunston  An old PICKer, using Access2000. Celebrating this year my 72nd birthday and my 50th wedding anniversary.

i suggest you should get a terminal server. 1000-2000 dollars for a small company
then you can buy just one copy of office 2000
