i have an Access db setup to perform a mailmerge for user documentation, and it current works fine from access to word. now they have a twist they would like to be able to add pictures (jpeg, gif, etc) to portions of the documents where needed. i tried to do some playing where the user could save the picture in the DB but it only returns a code in the word doc. can something like this be done?? could i maybe store a location of the jpeg and then somehow merge it along with all the text and not really try to store anything in the DB?? thoughts?? or is this something that is just insane to try to accomplish with these tools. thanks all

Looks like it is possible, obviously the hard part will be getting your file turned into a picture...

Although I'd search google for something like "mailmerge picture word 2007" or your appropriate version... There may be different techniques for different versions. I did not try it (or even read the entire post) but I am curious if you get it working and what you have to do in Word.

You might also want to check out my FAQ regarding mailing a word template.

That way you can allow the user to put the images in the word doc and then use that with the MailEnvelope to send the email.
