Access to the database file is not allowed

when i want to upload .sdf file in emulator to the PC, I got "Access to the database file is not allowed"..
But I have no ideas for this error, please can help me??

one cannor perform any copy of move operation on any Database files if the SQL server has the files open, to be able to do that you would have to either shutdown SQL server or detach the database.

almedia - uploads should be allowed, no problem there as we do them during the day all the time. Standard practice otherwise the database would be locked 24 / 7 for external data.

Jepe - what data are you trying to upload, and what method are you using? DTS, TSQL, job etc.etc. and what options do you have set on the DB you are trying to import into?

Is my understanding that the sdf is SQL Server Database (MDF, LDF, SDF) not a file with data to be uploaded. But only jepe666 can clarify that.

I believe you are confusing an SDF with an NDF which are secondary data files.

I stand corrected ... an SDF file is part of SQL Server Compact Edition Database File (Microsoft Corporation)

Apple bogies to all - I see where you are coming from. I was thinking Structured Data File - as in some kind of input, as jepe said "upload".

Jepe666 - we need more info as to what you are trying to do / achieve as it is a bit vague.
